High School Musical 3: Senior Year; Director ‘had me dancing against the mirror and just strutting around the room’
Jamie Portman, Canwest News Service

Blonde teenage beauty Jemma McKenzie-Brown was a student at London’s prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School when the news came.

The people at Disney wanted to bring an international flavour to High School Musical 3, so they were extending their casting arm all the way across the Atlantic. Jemma and her friends knew that they had to try out - if only for the experience of auditioning for a big international movie. But little did this friendly 14-year-old expect that she would end up winning the plum role of Tiara Gold, the English newcomer who becomes personal assistant to East High diva Sharpay Evans, played by Ashley Tisdale.

“Most of the girls at my school auditioned,” Jemma remembers. “I had a first audition, and then I got a call back.”

By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting from Kim Stolz

The stars of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” are growing up and moving on.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens go from teen idol wannabes to full-fledged teen dreams. In this installment of the “High School Musical” franchise, their characters — Troy Bolton, Chad Danforth, Sharpay Evans and Gabriella Montez — are graduating, saying farewell and heading off to college. If the rumors are true, there may be a fourth “High School Musical” movie on the way. And although we’re saying goodbye to the original cast in “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” the latest film introduces three fresh-faced newbies — Justin Martin, Jemma McKenzie-Brown and Matt Prokop — to pick up where the original Wildcats left off.

But Martin doesn’t think the new crew will replace the originals; he sees this as an

ABC had an interview with the new kids of High School Musical 3 including Jemma McKenzie-Brown. Check out the article below and here for the video.

A new group of kids can only hope to achieve the kind of success Mary Kate and Ashley have enjoyed. For the past three years, we’ve gotten to know the first group of students from “High School Musical.” But it’s their senior year now. So some underclassmen are having the “musical” torch passed on to them.

The East High seniors are graduating and that means its time to introduce a younger generation of Wildcats in “High School Musical 3.”

“It’s a privilege to be welcomed into the family and be part of the amazing cast,” said Jemma McKenzie-Brown, “HSM3″ actress.
